Whenâs the last time that you tried something totally new to you?
Something youâve never tried before. Itâs so easy to get caught up in your daily routine, but there are sooo many benefits to getting out there and trying new things.
Just do it.
I seriously LOVE trying new things! Thereâs a certain rush and excitement that comes from pushing past your fears and just doing it. By no means does that mean that Iâm not a total wreck about it sometimes, but I know how important it is. Iâve made it a serious goal this year to push myself out of my comfort zone and try new things often and itâs been amazing!
And then panic sets in.
A lot of times I sign myself up for new things and then totally panic once the day actually comes. Haha can anyone else relate? A million thoughts start flying through your head, like âWill I be able to do this?â, âThese people are going to be so much better than meâ, âIâm gong to look so stupidâ and the list goes on and on and on…Yeah, itâs something Iâm still working on too, but you just gotta silence those type of thoughts and push past the fear.
Why you gotta push past the fear.Â
I always go into new things with a few things in mind and I try to keep my mind focused on those positives whenever I start to freak myself out. Here are a few of them and some reasons why you should totally put yourself out there & try out some new things too!
1. You just might find something you totally LOVE.
Okay, so you might not love everything that you try but thatâs okay! The more you try, the more youâll know what you like and what you donât. Plus, you might just find something that you absolutely love! Youâll never know if you donât try.
2. It pushes you out of your comfort zone & forces growth.
If youâre doing the same things you always do day after day, then thereâs no growth happening. Trying new things pushes you out of your comfort zone, which inevitably results in some growth–even if itâs small. Growth is the key to living a happy, fulfilling, and meaningful life! đÂ
3. Kicks boredom in the ass.
I totally get feeling bored if youâre doing the exact same things day after day and itâs so easy to get comfortable once youâre in a routine. Trust me, I get it. But thereâs wayyy too much to life to sit around feeling bored. Trying new things will definitely put feelings of boredom to rest and might even put a little extra pep in your step đ
4. That euphoric rush of pushing past your fears!
Okay, so lemme just say, no matter how scared you are or even if you donât end up liking the thing you decided to try, that feeling you get after pushing past your feels? Wooo watch out! Itâs AMAZING! Youâll feel on top of the world!
Whatâs something new that you can try this week?
It doesnât have to be anything huge or crazy, but just something new to you. You can start small. Maybe choose a dish that isnât your normal go-to favorite at a restaurant, or take your workout outside if youâre normally inside. It can be anything. Whatever it is, decide on something now and take that action!
Hereâs to a happy, healthy week of trying new things!
Until next time,
Xoxo
