Okay so we just had a long holiday weekend and sometimes that throws off your regular routine a little, am I right?
You may have eaten and drunk a bunch of things you wish you wouldn’t have and now it’s Monday and you’re feeling not so hot…
Whether you’re coming back from a long weekend, a night out, or an event, use these tips to fiercely bounce back to your happy, healthy self!
1. Let it go.
What’s happened, already happened and there’s no going back now. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Forgive yourself & let it go. It’s okay to have fun! You gotta enjoy life too! Just get back on track and don’t stress about what’s already happened. Worry and guilt won’t change anything. They’ll just make the situation worse. You had fun, you enjoyed and now you’re back on track and ready to feel good again!
2. What will make you feel better?
Think of some things that will help make you feel better and keep your mind positive. Listen to a podcast, read a book, watch a funny movie–anything that will help you to recoup and bring you back to a happy, refreshed state of mind.
3. Drink that water.
Extra water will help keep you hydrated and feeling good, especially after a long weekend of indulgence, or night out. Chances are that you’re a little dehydrated and just getting some water in your system will help you to start feeling better. For an added lift, try squeezing some lemon in your water.
4. Just move.
Take some time to get out and move your body. It doesn’t have to be super intense or long, just move. Even just going out for a nice walk will help lift your spirits and make you feel better. Moving your body does wonders for not only your body but also your state of mind. Even if it’s the last thing you want to do, schedule some time to at least get a good walk in.
5. Do something fun.
Sometimes after a weekend of indulgence, it’s normal to wake up feeling a little down and out. Try doing something fun or watching something funny to lift your spirits and get your mind back in a happy state.
6. Get outside.
If you can, get outdoors and get some fresh air and sunshine. Just being outside has a way of lifting your spirits. Focus on all the beauty and love around you and really just take in how blessed you are to be surrounded by it all!
7. Get some extra sleep today.
Chances are you got a little behind on sleep. Try getting to bed earlier tonight to catch up on some of that lost sleep. You’ll thank yourself tomorrow!
Have you ever felt this way after a long weekend or holiday? What did you do to help lift the day after funk?
Until next time,
Xoxo
