Woo hoo!
The 4th of July is riiiiggghhtt around the corner. Are you ready?! I’m giving you some tips & tricks to have fun, enjoy, and still feel great this fourth!
The 4th is usually filled with friends, food, fun and drinks–which is really such an awesome combo! đ Donât worry, Iâm not gonna tell you to skip the food or drinks! You can totally enjoy the holiday and still stay fit and feel good.
Here are some quick tips to help you have a happy, fun holiday where you donât feel like complete garbage! đ
1. Be conscious of portions.
With big food holidays, itâs super easy to load up your plate, eat it all, go back for seconds, keep eating all day…and not even realize that maybe youâre not hungry anymore…story of my life haha. Definitely enjoy the foods you love, but just try to be conscious of eating a little slower and realizing when youâre not hungry anymore. Youâll feel soooo much better if you donât totally over-indulge. Trust me.
2. Get out & get moving.
The fourth is great because itâs usually a holiday when youâre out and about anyways. But if for some reason youâre not, try to find some time to get out and get moving. Even just a quick walk will help keep you feeling good.
3. Stay Hydrated.
Donât forget to stay hydrated! Drink that water! Especially if youâre outside and drinking alcohol, make sure you get enough water in. Itâs so much easier to get dehydrated when youâre in the sun and drinking alcohol. Staying hydrated will keep you feeling good and happy!
4. Donât skip meals.
Sometimes people will try to skip meals to âsave upâ for all the food they plan to eat later. This is just a recipe for disaster. Youâll be starving by the time you actually eat and chances are youâll WAY overeat because of it, and that never feels good. Eat before you go out.
5. Opt for healthy options when ya can.
Of course youâre gonna enjoy some treats but try to get in some veggies and nutrients too. Youâll feel so much better! Your body needs those nutrients to keep functioning well and feeling good. Â
6. Remember to have fun and enjoy life!
Donât get so caught up on your fitness goals that you forget to enjoy life and have fun! Itâs all about finding that happy balance that works for you. Make memories, have fun, and feel great!
Hereâs to a happy, healthy, & fun fourth! đÂ
Until next time,
Xoxo
